N@ , Jon and Amanda’s last day of Onramp in the garage !
I’m sure CrossFit has changed your lives as it has changed mine and i sometimes sit back and think of where i was prior to all this excercising for time stuff. I wonder what my life would be like, if i would be in a different place or if i would be in a different state of mind. Although i wonder of these things sometimes i would never change the decisions i’ve made getting to where we are today. The ability to change lives and make a positive impact on people and their situations has given me so much joy.
I have seen several bodies transform in our box. I have seen many pounds dropped. I have seen more defintion and bigger weights being picked up on a regular basis. All of which i believe are very important and all prove that our program works, it’s evidence based ! However, most importantly i have seen people’s lives change. I have seen low self esteem turn into confidence. I have seen sadness turn to smiles. I have seen friendships grow. I have seen kids turn to adults and adults who may have needed that extra support finally step out of their shell and become comfortable. You see, this is what needs to be understood at our box. Although we have some great athletes in here, we all need eachother. It’s a much bigger picture than you may think because what we do really does change lives.
I challenge all of you to step up ! Step up and support the guy who never had any support. Open the door for someone. Go out of your way to say Hello to someone and have a conversation with a complete stranger. Make yourself better, give back, share, support ! Do something, do something that makes you feel good other than training. Make someone smile that hasn’t smiled in days. Shake someones hand with a firm shake and look them in the eyes with confidence. Tell your parents you love them. Shoot, just do something. Go listen to someone tell you about their day, don’t interrupt, just listen. Give support, give advice, give, just give.. One day, i promise you it will come back your way. And through it all you will still have people holding you down, holding you back and just raining on your ever so positive parade. Pay it NO mind, smile and tell them to ” make it a great day” …. Question, When was the last time you did something for the first time in your life?????

This post and picture about made me cry. Not only has boombox and Eric given me my life back it’s made me feel more confident in all aspects of life. I am the happiest I have ever been with my body, and I love how much strongerI feel everyday. I love coming to my work outs and I love the people I crossfit with. Giving is the best gift in the world! Cannot wait to wod tomorrow!!!

Setting an example of giving unconditionally that others will follow out of respect and a desire to be better is one of the hardest things to consistently. Weave it into the fabric of your lives, make it part of your DNA, and true accomplishment is your reward.

Awesome post Eric! To keep my response short and sweet: I have all the equipment I need at home except one that I find so valuable… THE PEOPLE AND THEIR POSITIVE ENERGY! I joined boombox to be surrounded by all this positive energy cause, honestly, it helps me sooo much mentally. Crossfit is the best therapy a mommy of three boys can have! I can’t wait to come in tomorrow!

I share the same philosophy of “give and you shall receive”, Give without expecting anything in return, and don’t give and tell the world, sometimes it’s between you and God! He’s the only one that needs to know. What else can I say, I never thought I’d see the day when I’m telling my husband that I need a day or two off from working out, I never thought I’d ever be able to share this awesomeness with my hubs!! So THANK YOU for all you do, and may God continue to bring blessings to your life as you have brought to many of us!!!

for the WOD I used 95# and finished with a time of 8:03.
Wod was alot harder than i thought but i didnt give up nor would my BBCF family let me. you guys are great! been here 1 month and i feel at home everyday. Thanks again guys cant wait till tmrw.

My calf muscle is still tight and hurting from finally stringing together 21 dubs!!!
Been feeling really frustrated about my knee. I know I have no reason to complain because some of our fellow athletes are dealing with injuries much more serious than mine but it’s frustrating nonetheless. I feel like I’m slipping back both mentally and physically. I was feeling so strong and confident and now I’m starting to feel like that insecure out of shape person that showed up at the garage 6 months ago.I know I will get through this and Eric, your inspiring words keep me moving along. Thank you:-)
I did the wod today with so many modifications to avoid my knee. Ring rows instead of step ups and sit ups instead of sprints. I think my time was 6:24??? After that I rowed 1k meters at a really nice easy pace.
