I’m sure CrossFit has changed your lives as it has changed mine and i sometimes sit back and think of where i was prior to all this excercising for time stuff. I wonder what my life would be like, if i would be in a different place or if i would be in a different state of mind. Although i wonder of these things sometimes i would never change the decisions i’ve made getting to where we are today. The ability to change lives and make a positive impact on people and their situations has given me so much joy.
I have seen several bodies transform in our box. I have seen many pounds dropped. I have seen more defintion and bigger weights being picked up on a regular basis. All of which i believe are very important and all prove that our program works, it’s evidence based ! However, most importantly i have seen people’s lives change. I have seen low self esteem turn into confidence. I have seen sadness turn to smiles. I have seen friendships grow. I have seen kids turn to adults and adults who may have needed that extra support finally step out of their shell and become comfortable. You see, this is what needs to be understood at our box. Although we have some great athletes in here, we all need eachother. It’s a much bigger picture than you may think because what we do really does change lives.
I challenge all of you to step up ! Step up and support the guy who never had any support. Open the door for someone. Go out of your way to say Hello to someone and have a conversation with a complete stranger. Make yourself better, give back, share, support ! Do something, do something that makes you feel good other than training. Make someone smile that hasn’t smiled in days. Shake someones hand with a firm shake and look them in the eyes with confidence. Tell your parents you love them. Shoot, just do something. Go listen to someone tell you about their day, don’t interrupt, just listen. Give support, give advice, give, just give.. One day, i promise you it will come back your way. And through it all you will still have people holding you down, holding you back and just raining on your ever so positive parade. Pay it NO mind, smile and tell them to ” make it a great day” …. Question, When was the last time you did something for the first time in your life?????
